Lord Ganesha son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati (Goddess Durga / Goddess Maheshwari). Ganpati, Ganesha or Ganesh is the only god whose every family member is worshipped by people. Also, worshipping even one of the family members of Ganesha’s family brings happiness in people’s life by fulfilling their desires.
Today we will tell you some important things about Lord Ganesha’s family…
Father : Lord Shiva
Lord Ganesha’s father is Lord Mahesha (Shiva). The name 'Mahesh' is short version of a name Maheshwar or Maheshwara of Sanskrit origin. Mahesha is considered to be the life of this universe. If Mahesha does not exist, there will be no universe, no life. This is why Lord Mahesha is known as 'kalo ka Kaal- Mahakal'.
Shiva (शिव) is the name of Lord Mahesha’s Nirgun and Nirakaar form and Mahesh is the name of Lord Shiva's Sagun and Sakar form. Mahesh is made up of two words Maha and Ish (Ishwar / ईश्वर), their meanings are respectively great and lord. The meaning of name Mahesh is supreme power. Mahesh means God of Gods (Devadhidev, Maheshwar or Mahadev).
It is Lord Mahesha who gives life and even takes it. Worshipping Mahesha is considered to remove all sins from one’s life.
Ganesha’s
mother is Jagdamba Parvati. Parvati is considered to be the strength.
Body without strength is useless. Strength is power.
Son : Lord Ganesh has two sons, Shubh (Kshema) and Labh and his (Lord Ganesha's) grandsons are called Amod and Pramod and Daughter in laws Tushti and Pushti (Tushti is Shubh's Wife and Pushti is Labh's Wife).
